CurbIQ was selected by the City of Kirkland to enhance their smart parking program with digital curbside management. CurbIQ will create a digital curb space inventory and aggregate data from the existing parking solutions. The complete inventory will concentrate in the downtown area, including off-street parking regulations that are owned by the City.
Kirkland has a variety of existing parking solutions, such as sensors, real-time data, and mobile apps. CurbIQ will aggregate and integrate the relevant information, combined with the complete digital curb space inventory, and use the insights to optimize downtown parking and enhance the current and future parking operations in the City. Throughout the project, CurbIQ will be the central source for City staff to access parking and curbside usage information. CurbIQ will also provide end users with parking navigation.
The CurbIQ team has already completed an assessment of parking demand for on- and off-street locations throughout the downtown area and waterfront parks. This report will help inform decision-making related to parking strategies in Downtown Kirkland by generating accurate and up-to-date data about parking demand and patterns. Through a detailed analysis of occupancy and dwell time, the CurbIQ team identified opportunities for the City to increase parking revenue while managing parking behavior.
These recommendations will also help the City to optimize parking turnover, while continuing to maximize business access in Downtown Kirkland.
